We are working on blends and digraphs in our classrooms!

In this zipped file there are 78 individual files related to blends and digraphs. This is what you can expect. Download the preview file to see pictures of what's in the file. 

•  Picture cards - for l blends (bl, cl, fl, gl, pl and sl) , r blends (br, cr, dr, gr, pr, and tr), s blends (sl, sm, sn, sp, st, and sw), begins with ch, ends with ch, begins with sh, ends with sh, begins with th, ends with th and sorting header cards for each.

Sample Picture Cards - 27 files in all

• Blend and Digraph Flip Cards – Print the cards on card stock. Laminate and cut. Punch a hole in the corner, put it on a ring. I use these daily for blend and digraph review. I flip through the cards as follows: bl, /bl/, blocks, cr, /cr/, crib, etc. It takes about 2 minutes or less and works wonders.

• Blend and Digraph student tracking sheets and posters – We have created tracking sheets for in class work or independent student work. Each has the list of blends with lines to keep track of words with blends and digraphs found. There is also a large poster of each of these that you can use in your classroom for students to write the words they come across that have blends and digraphs. It’s a great phonics anchor chart that is student generated.

•   Writing Papers for each blend an digraph – Reading and Writing are connected. The writing sheets are basic handwriting sheets where the students write the blend/digraph many times. They write one word and illustrate. They also write a sentence. Good extra practice for morning work or homework. Use as you see fit.
